Gas Barriers

Gas Barriers

landfill

Property developers have to be more careful than ever about their use of land for new housing, commercial or industrial projects. With spaces in and around cities becoming more difficult to build on, developers are increasingly venturing out into brownfield sites. This can bring with it a number of ecological issues that need to be resolved before any building can begin.

One of the more common reasons our low linear density polyethylene (LLDPE) lining is installed is to prevent or re-direct the emission of dangerous gasses into new building developments. Our highly effective gas barriers are designed to stop methane and carbon dioxide from creating health hazards in occupied spaces developed at ground level.

WHY YOU NEED LLDPE GAS BARRIERS

Our high performance LLDPE gas barriers creates an impermeable barrier to prevent gas seepage into new building sites. This ensures the land is safe for access to begin building works, removing the dangers of toxic gasses that would otherwise make the site unfit for construction, or for businesses or residents to inhabit.

HOW WE INSTALL LLDPE GAS BARRIERS

Our fully trained team have years of welding experience and will ensure your LLDPE gas barriers are installed to specification so they are completely impermeable:

  • Once the low linear polyethylene lining is laid it is immediately inspected for debris that could cause damage.
  • Our qualified welding technicians start work in the required areas.
  • Field seaming is the next stage to be completed, which is done vertically on the slope.
  • A non-destructive test of the weld is carried out to ensure their integrity.

BENEFITS OF INSTALLING LLDPE GAS BARRIERS

  • Our gas barriers can be installed onto a wide range of surfaces including geotextile and sand blinding.
  • The material is designed to contain levels of high puncture resistance
  • We can install large amounts of our LLDPE lining in a short space of time
  • It effectively blocks out gasses and toxins to make the land workable and liveable
